Boat and Yacht Solar Panels - Spectra Semi-Flexible Marine Solar Panels.
These low-profile panels can be fixed to flat surfaces, or can be flexed to fit gently curved surfaces, such as coachroofs. Perfect for keeping the batteries on your boat topped up while you are away. The panels can be glued down with a suitable marine grade adhesive such as Sikaflex, or fixed using the four screwholes in the corners.
Marine grade materials are used throughout, so they are ideal for use on yachts. Spectra panels are tough enough to walk on with soft soled shoes, being robustly constructed on a fibreglass substrate with a scratch-proof clear Tedlar superstrate. They are very slimline and lightweight and have no metal outer components to make contact with the surface to which they are fitted.
The efficient and stable polycrystalline cells are encapsulated between the 2 tough outer layers. The panels are weatherproof and carry a limited 2 year warranty. A built in diode prevents current from flowing back from the battery to the solar panel in darkness, so Spectra panels can be connected directly to the battery. However, we do recommend the use of a solar regulator to prevent overcharge if the system is to be left unattended for long periods, or if the battery capacity is less than 50Ah (with a Spectra 5W panel); 100 Ah (with a Spectra 10) or 200Ah (with a Spectra 20).
The sealed junction box which houses the blocking diode has 3m of output cable, so electrical connection direct to the battery or solar controller is simple. These are ideal for all Marine applications, including Boats, Yachts, Narrowboats and Canaloats and tough enough to be walker over. |
